AFC South
Indianapolis has had two poor seasons since 1998 - I turned six in 1998. The rest of the division, on the other hand, has been fairly miserable in recent memory.
Home vs. Houston (9-7)
I will admit it: J.J. Watt is a scary, scary man. Even when he made an appearance on FX's "The League," I was a little worried he might swipe a massive paw through the screen. However, Houston's QB situation is comical in comparison. Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett are nothing considering the Panthers face Matt Ryan and Drew Brees each twice a year. I expect the Panthers defense to make a statement in Bank of America Stadium.
Home vs. Indianapolis (11-5)
It simply is not fair that one year after releasing Peyton Manning, the Colts were able to draft Andrew Luck; I can only imagine the conspiracy theories being thrown around in Cleveland. This game will be a tough contest, but fortunately the Panthers will be at home. Maybe an extra-loud effort from the fans can help surge the Panthers to victory.
Away @ Jacksonville (3-13)
Jacksonville has made some curious moves this offseason, and Blake Bortles still has a lot to prove. The battle of the big cats should be an easy one for the Panthers. Maybe newly acquired Teddy Williams can give us some information on their special teams to give us an even bigger edge.
Away @ Tennessee (2-14)
Much like Jacksonville, Tennessee is a team with an unproven young QB and confusion everywhere else. Unless Zach Mettenberger becomes a better QB than he ever has been before, the Panthers should dominate again.
That's all for Lesson 9.
